Since 1987, we have been Italy’s hub for the diagnosis and treatment of lymphoedema. Our clinic, which has supported oncology patients and those with lymphatic and vascular conditions for nearly 40 years, is now also at the forefront of lipoedema treatment.

Unlike other physiotherapy centres, the Clinica Linfologica Italiana adopts a multidisciplinary approach—currently the only method, as recent scientific research shows, capable of reversing or slowing the progression of chronic lymphoedema and lipoedema.

Since its founding, the Clinica Linfologica Italiana has been dedicated to educating and informing patients and their families on managing lymphoedema and lipoedema.

OUR MULTIDISCIPLINARY APPROACH:

More than just massages and bandages

For many years, manual lymphatic drainage and multi-component compression bandaging formed the core of our treatments. Until about a decade ago, these were the only techniques therapists utilised to slow the progression of the condition.
Today, we know that manual and compression treatments are just one part of the lymphatic rehabilitation process.

After the initial lymphology consultation, conducted by a multidisciplinary team that includes thorough clinical assessments, we share the diagnosis (if applicable) with the patient and collaboratively design a personalized, multidisciplinary treatment plan.

Our treatment programmes integrate manual therapies, mechanical therapies, and physical activities that take place in our various venues, including in the gym, outdoors, and in the swimming pool – along with nutritional guidance and psychological support.
Educational sessions on lymphatic and lipoedema care complement these programmes, helping patients gain greater awareness of their condition and learn self- managing and self-care practices.
