A valuable aid after breast surgery

A pilot study published in the Breast Journal highlights the benefits of LPG treatments in breast reconstruction following mastectomy and radiotherapy.
This retrospective study was conducted by Dr. Kais Razzouk from the Breast Institute in Nice and included 65 women who underwent breast reconstruction with lipofilling, with or without implants.
The volume of fat injected was significantly greater in the LPG group compared to the control group, specifically 259.3 ml versus 150.6 ml for the first lipofilling and 251.8 ml versus 154 ml for the second lipofilling. The complication rate was reduced by four times (3% versus 12.5%).

From this preliminary study, it can be concluded that LPG treatment is capable of “preparing” the breast for post-mastectomy reconstruction, ensuring better aesthetic results and a lower rate of side effects resulting from reconstruction.
